Remember Remember The Fifth Of November

So Halloween has gone and Today is the Fifth Of November and for us British that means Guy Fawkes/Bonfire night,Have you got your Guy Fawkes ready for the top of your bonfire?

Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Day, Bonfire Night and Firework Night, is an annual commemoration observed on 5 November, primarily in Great Britain. Its history begins with the events of 5 November 1605, when Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, was arrested while guarding explosives the plotters had placed beneath the House of Lords. Celebrating the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life, people lit bonfires around London, and months later the introduction of the Observance of 5th November Act enforced an annual public day of thanksgiving for the plot's failure.

Some of the Bonfire night rhymes

Remember, remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason, why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, guy, t'was his intent
To blow up king and parliament.
Three score barrels were laid below
To prove old England's overthrow.

By God's mercy he was catch'd
With a darkened lantern and burning match.
So, holler boys, holler boys, Let the bells ring.
Holler boys, holler boys, God save the king.

And what shall we do with him?
Burn him!

Rumour, rumour, pump and derry,
Prick his heart and burn his body,
And send his soul to Purgatory.

(Usually sung by children around the burning bonfire with the guy on top)

Ok so there is actually quite a few.

Anyway if you are celebrating remember to keep yourselves safe and also your pets have a great time and enjoy the fun,it will deffo be lovely to have a nice big bonfire tonight it is so cold and i can not wait to see the fireworks though i hate the noise (earplug time lol) round here fireworks have been going off for about a week and that kind of spoils it because you are already bored of them by the time today comes around.
